I just want to report that I have (apparently :-) compiled Mage
successfully on a DEC Alpha under OSF1 V3.0. The really funny thing
is that the file is only 437 kB, in contrast to the DEC binary at
suna, which is about 3 MB (and doesn't run on the Alpha; it fails with
/alf3/krasel/bin% DECMAGE.950124
DECMAGE.950124: syntax error at line 1: `)' unexpected
/alf3/krasel/bin% file DECMAGE.950124
DECMAGE.950124: COFF format mipsel binary
Maybe this format doesn't run on this Alpha?).
The reason for this *might be* that the latter file could be statically
linked with the Motif libraries whereas the former probably loads the
libraries during runtime.
I will experiment a bit more with it and report bugs, successes etc.
