*** HOW TO CONNECT TO BIOMOO ***

1) Using Telnet

type telnet bioinformatics.weizmann.ac.il 8888
then either "connect your_user_name your_password" or "connect guest"
(If you connect as a guest, you will be prompted to give a name for your
guest character.)
You should then type "go pps base"

2) Using a MOO "client"

There are a number of "client" programs available which are easier to use
than telnet. If you have one of these available at your site, you should
run it, selecting the site bioinformatics.weizmann.ac.il and port no.
8888, and proceed as above.

More details about MOO clients can be found on
http://bioinformatics.weizmann.ac.il/BioMOO/reference/Clients.FAQ

If your connection to BioMOO is very slow you can try connecting via the
Globewide Network Academy in the Netherlands. To do this, you:-

connect to gnalab.uva.nl, port 7777 via telnet or a client
then type the following:-
connect guest
BioMOO
(username and password, or "guest" and guest name when prompted)
s
(You come out in the campus garden in BioMOO)
go pps base

This sounds complicated, but it isn't really. It was much faster than the
direct connection when I was working in Poland last Spring.

Good luck!
