T4 Lysozyme experiment
Three different novel disulfide bonds have been introduced in to T4 lysozyme(Matsumura 1989), which has no disulfides in its native form. This three novel disulfide bonds increase Tm at low pH, and combinations of these crosslinks are nearly additive in their ability to increase Tm, although the tendency of these crosslinks to increase resistance to denaturation at neutral pH or under low temperature denaturing conditions is diminished.
