Damian Moran recently wrote me asking for details of where to start if
one were interested in giving a BioMOO journal club or seminar. At this
point, it's pretty much free-form, as there is no formal structure at
BioMOO for this yet. We're all still learning.
However, several journal clubs, and some presentations in other formats
have been given, and hopefully we have learned something about how to make
such presentations successful. I am posting, as a separate message, a
document I have been writing to address the question of what sort of
scientific presentations can be given in BioMOO. It is still a work in
progress, but it should help.
A key question is how many PPS class student have access to graphical
web browsing programs. This parameter constrains the success of some
sorts of presentations. Then again, there are compromises possible.
In any case, I offer this paper to help you all decide if you are
interested in some sort of expanded presentation system using BioMOO,
and encourage you to explore.
