MOOs have great potential for educational purposes and professional communication and one has been specifically created by Gustavo for biologists. It's about a year old and is regularly used for biologists to meet and hold events, such as seminars and journal clubs. Gustavo (who is a director of VSNS) Eric and others have developed a graphical interface to BioMOO and are making rooms available for this course.

Old versions of Netscape and Mosaic just don't follow protocol when sending POST (form) requests, and the MOO just waits to get the info, and times out. The solution is just - get the newest client. (If you're using Macs, the best IMO is Netscape 0.96, not Netscape 1.0N) Good luck!
To the VSNS-PPS admin group - maybe this point should be stressed to the students. Unfortunately, there is no way (technically) for the MOO to support the wrong protocol that old clients use. ------------------------------------------------------------- Gustavo Glusman Founder/administrator of BioMOO -- Gustavo@bioinformatics.weizmann.ac.il --http://bioinformatics.weizmann.ac.il:70/0h/Gustavo/Glusman -- BioMOO: telnet bioinformatics.weizmann.ac.il 8888 WWW: http://bioinfo.weizmann.ac.il:8888

are aware of the Web and have a graphical web browser, but didn't realize
