If you can't grab them with your browser, or with xv or a similar MIME-fired viewer, then you can down-load them using ftp. They are all bundled as both a gifs.zip file (for PCs), and as a gifs.tar.Z file for UNIX. To get hold of the file, use ftp to connect to one of our machines thus :-
ftp c2a.cryst.bbk.ac.uk ......... and login with
USER anonymous......... then give your
email@address ....... as password.
Change directory with
cd PPS then type
binary followed by
get gifs.zip......... or
get gifs.tar.Z
Note, the filenames have been truncated to conform to DOS.
So I'm asking volunteers to send me any such small images
that could be used in the course. Please send them by anonymous ftp
(using binary) to c2a.cryst.bbk.ac.uk and put them in the
/upload/PPS directory, then email pps@www.cryst.bbk.ac.uk and
tell me they're there. Thanks in advance :-)
