This is the first in a series of 19 stills from an animated lesson about
the process of protein synthesis. In addition to the part shown in these
slides, the complete animated lesson also contains parts dealing with mRNA
reading frames, aminoacyl-tRNA synthetases, and structure and function of
ribosomes. The animated lesson was created in Cinemation and is
freely available for non-commercial use.

To
run the animation, a color Macintosh computer is required. 680x0 Macs
require 5 megabytes free RAM (not including system software) and PowerMacs
may require up to 10 megabytes of free RAM (not including system software)
with system 7. System 7.5.1 seems to have better memory management and
only a little bit more than 5 megabytes of free RAM may work.
You can also see the process of protein synthesis animation as a QT movie.
