The general structure of the protein is comprised of a helix, a loop, a second helix, a tight turn, a third helix and a disordered fourth helix (which is sort of a contiunuation of helix three). The helix III/IV resides in the major groove of the DNA duplex, making important recognition contacts. Other important contacts are made by an N-terminal flexible arm and the loop between helices I and II. A hydrophobic core holds the protein together.
