I need help with getting RasMol or Kinemage for the Macintosh
installed and working. I have a MacIIci networked to a Sun
workstation; the Mac runs NCSA Telnet 2.6 and MacWeb 1.00a2.2
as well as Fetch. I have been unsuccessful at retrieving
either RasMol or Kinemage to my Macintosh and would appreciate
detailed help (an "idiot's guide" would be preferable!).
I've ftp'd MAGE as a self-extracting archive to the Sun station,
then copied it under MacBinary to the Mac, but when I tried
expanding it, it grew to over 20MB (I quit at that point, I don't
have much more room on my hard drive). I understand that neither
RasMol nor Kinemage require all that much hard drive space (?is this
right? can someone be specific on memory requirements?). I've
tried using Fetch to copy both RasMol and Kinemage directly to
the Mac, but was unsuccessful both times (and yes, I *did* transfer
them as binary files).
HELP!!! (in rising panic as course start-date draws near...)
Sorry this is so lame, but I am really a neophyte at this...
