least until someone else suggests something more straightforward). But
after comparing the .kin and .pdb file structures, I don't THINK there's
a way of doing what you're asking (since RasMol reads .pdb files--just
in case, I renamed a .kin file with a .pdb extension, then opened it in
RasMol--didn't work). ANYWAY, if you're interested in editing your
protein, you can open up your original .pdb file in a plain text editor
(like vi or dos--just not anything like Wordperfect), and then
cutting out what you don't want (e.g., I'm looking at a 68-amino-acid
residue, and wanted to look more closely at the binding loop -- so I
deleted lines for residues 1-35, and 49-68. I saved the edited version
as filename.pdb, and then opened it in RasMol). Basically, this is the
same as doing a 'select range' in PreKin. Worked fine -- may not be
what you want, but could be something useful in the future.
