I understand and appreciate the concern of people about
tracking the updating of the VSNS-PPS hypertree, but it's now being
updated, mainly by me, on a semi-continuous basis, and this is
likely to intensify.
To carry out Peter's first suggestion would slow me down and make
the updating somewhat more exacting :-(
I *much* prefer the second automatic idea, and appeal for someone to
invent a script we could run as a cron job to report `changed and
new pages' into a file that we could make visible. FYI we run our
server on a DEC Alpha, and file-share the discs over several different
UNIX machines. I suspect any generic UNIX (or PERL) script that examines
all branches below a few given directories could be got to work.
Can anybody help, please?
Thanks,
Alan Mills at Birkbeck, for vsns-pps
