Hi all,

Let me introduce myself; My name is Peter Karuso and am a consultant for the
vsn-pps course. I'm a senior lecturer in Chemistry at Macquarie University
in Sydney Australia but am currently on sabbatical with Horst Kessler at the
Technical University in Munich (Institute for Organic and Bio-Chemistry).

My research interests are the design and synthesis of enzyme inhibitors,
specifically for PLA2 and FKBP, and the structure of heavily glycosylated
proteins (e.g. CAMs). We use a lot of molecular modelling for the design
of inhibitors and NMR spectroscopy for the structural studies.

I would like to offer my services to any students thinking about projects
in the areas of:

- Why Proline is special
- The Poly-proline helix
- Sugar Decoration (glycosylation)

These topics I know a little about and are gleaned from a list of possible
projects circulated earlier today. Feel free to e-mail me directly but
as advised, stake your claim early by posting a message to the
vsns-pps-families list.

Regards,

Peter
