I had posted this problem to vsns-pps-technical, but I got no response.
Therefore, I'm sending it over this one!
I'm trying to install Xmol onto an SGI Indigo2 Extreme using the INSTALL
program that came with it. I only get so far and then everything stops. The
log of the installation follows. Any help would be appreciated.

Throughout the installation process, you will be asked various site-
specific questions. Default answers will be supplied for you [ in
brackets, like this ]. To select the default, simply press the return
key.
When specifying directories, please use full pathnames. For example,
do NOT use names like ./bin. All filenames should start with a '/'.
Note that certain steps in the installation require placing files in
standard, system-wide directories (such as /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults)
which may not be writable by ordinary users. As such, installation
may have to be done by someone with super-user privileges, such as
your system administrator. Alternatively, files may be placed in
personal directories; however, XMol may not then be available to all
users.
If you use su to become the super-user, use su -, to ensure that
the USER variable is set to root.
Enter Q to quit, or just press the Return key to continue.

At this point, INSTALL stops and the program is killed.
Those files do exist in the directory inwhich INSTALL was initiated
(/usr/local/apps/xmol).
Thanks in advance.
