Prerequisites

Students will benefit most from the course if they have a reasonable acquaintance with some of the fundamental disciplines. This is only a guide, and we certainly won't pick nits about details, but you will struggle if you have never seen a molecular formula, never used a PC, don't know what a nucleic acid is, and haven't heard of Pythagoras. Many students will be lacking in one or more of the areas below, so we are outlining what we expect at the start of the course. We can't give you tuition, but we hope to point you to some useful references if we see them on the Web (or in books).

Don't panic yet! Have a look - you may find that you know much of it.
