Regulation
Gene Regulation by Proteins
Prokaryotic Regulators
Many of the known activators and repressors of prokaryotic genes function
as dimers.
Other examples include the met and arc repressors of
Escherichia coli and Salmonella bacteriophage P22.
Henry Brzeski has produced this page on the
lac repressor ; this is also a nice introductory tutorial to
Rasmol .
Eukaryotic Regulators
E.g. homeodomains such as
engrailed Homeodomain from fruit-fly,(3 pictures
from Manuel Peitsch at Glaxo Geneva:)
Donovan Haines has produced a project on
homeodomains .
