Part III. The Glycogenolysis Cascade---An Example
Figure 1 shows that the synthesis and degradation of glycogen in the liver
is under the control of a cascade of protein
phosphorylation and dephosphorylation reactions. Glycogenolysis, or the
degradation of glycogen is stimulated in liver cells by the action of the
hormone glucagon.
