Hello everyone,

Some time ago, Peter Murray-Rust mentioned the Biocomputing
Glossary the VSNS-BCD team (Virtual School of Natural Sciences-
BioComputing Division) is working on. We've just released it;
it's CGI/Frames-based at the moment.
Here's the official announcement for our students:

>>>>
At http://www.cryst.bbk.ac.uk/BCD/bcdgloss.html, you can now "officially"
access our "Biocomputing Glossary", with an emphasis on terminology that
plays a significant role in Chapter 1 and 3 (Pairwise/Multiple Alignment)
of our BioComputing Hypertext Coursebook.

A lot of time went into these definitions, so we hope they're very
useful for you, e.g. to reaffirm your understanding of central concepts,
and especially as a reference work that will stay accessible.
The entries were written by Georg Fuellen, with kind assistance by Robert
Giegerich, and we happily acknowledge a lot(!) of technical help by Dave
Houldershaw of Birkbeck College. We'd like to thank the Cristallography
Department of Birkbeck College London for hosting the service.
We intent to expand the glossary as soon as possible.

best wishes,
