Subject: Re: PDB files filter

We just loaded the file pdb-entry-type.txt into the pub directory of
our ftp server. This file contains a list of idcodes, the type of molecules
in the file (i.e. protein, nucleic acid), and the type of experiment (i.e.
nmr, model, and blank for x-ray). This file will be updated during each load.
Another good source of this information is the pdbfinder database from
EMBL - http://swift.embl-heidelberg.de/.

PDB is also in the process of releasing a new relational database - 3DBase
that includes a browser which allows users to search using the criteria
that you are looking for. We plan to have this database available in late
spring or early summer.
