Triple stranded DNA

Dear all,
I am currently designing a library of programming tools for molecular
modelling
and bioinformatics. These tools will take the form of classes from which
objects can be created. These objects can be molecules or they can be
applications such as a sequence aligner. To get to the point, I was just
thinking about how many Nucleic Acid Strand objects a Nucleic Acid
object can have. Initially I thought 1 or 2 strands per neucleic acid
molecule but then I remembered hearing about the existence of triple
stranded DNA.

Question: is it possible that someone will ever design a quadruple (or
more) stranded DNA structure?
