The course has now been running for 6 weeks, and the initial flurry of activity
and excitement has settled down; most students have overcome the initial
technical hurdles, and have become accustomed to meeting in BioMOO.

What we would like to look into next is the possibility of holding some
(perhaps slightly more formal) cross-group meetings in BioMOO on
specific topics, depending on demand- both technical and scientific.

Obviously, the e-mail lists are a very good forum, and we've had
some extremely useful discussions on them. But possibly we could benefit
further by having experts on a particular topic actually present at a meeting
(perhaps 'guest speakers').

For example, Rasmol as expected has been a fairly hot topic; a number of
participants are not so familiar with Mage but are keen to learn about it.
Do the PPS Consultants think it will be worthwhile holding seminars on
these topics, perhaps with invited officianados to pass on their wisdom?
Then of course there are all the scientific issues which have been
covered so far.

Are there any subjects in particular which you feel should be addressed?
Naturally we are also seeking the students' opinions.

I appreciate the possible difficulties involved in trying to hold more
serious meetings in a MOO, which we have already discussed, but I feel
we should give it a try, and see how it goes.

Feedback please, to this list....

...I sense another Consultants' meeting around the corner. Could those of
you who are interested in meeting (within the next couple of weeks, perhaps?)
please mail Jacky (j.turner@mail.cryst.bbk.ac.uk) to indicate when you
might be able to attend.
