Hei Gayle,

you should write the exact name of the executable
which is 'SGI_MAGE_4_2.950618' in your case into
your '.mailcap' file. Further on you must make sure
that the executable will be found by the operating system.
There are different ways to do so. One way is to
add the absolute path (beginning with a '/') to
the name of the executable. This would lead to a line
in the '.mailcap' file as following where '/usr2/people/slickers/'
is the name of my home directory:

chemical/x-kinemage; /usr2/people/slickers/mage/SGI_MAGE_4_2.950618 %s

An other way is to make sure that the directory which contains
'SGI_MAGE_4_2.950618' is in your $PATH environment variable. In
that case you only need to write the executable name to
your '.mailcap' file:

chemical/x-kinemage; SGI_MAGE_4_2.950618 %s

Peter
