HTML is an acronym for HyperText Markup Language. It is a way of setting up a document so that the document can contain hypertext references, pictures etc. These documents are suffixed with the label '.html' so that they are recognized as such.
HTML documents (like any other) can be read by your browser from your local computer disk, or transferred from a server at any location on the Web. We will go through the basics of HTML so that you can produce your own documents.
