Section 5 - Introduction to Bioinformatics

We continue this week with the Introduction to Bioinformatics tutorial.

For the moment, study the material on sequence analysis; do not concern yourself with the material on structural databases, to which we will be returning later in the course.

Forthcoming BioMOO meetings

We intend to hold cross-group BioMOO meetings in the near future on the following subjects, in response to requests from a number of students:

Protein Synthesis
- On Friday an informal discussion meeting was held on the subject of Transcription, in the BioMOO. It was recorded on Transcription1_tape in the PPS Base
Protein Assignment 1- on Thursday, 14th March, 17:00 GMT

'Your' Protein Structure

All students were mailed with details of their assigned PDB file on 13th February. If you have not received this mail, please mail pps2@mail.cryst.bbk.ac.uk.

Further Information and exercises- designed to be carried out in parallel with the course material, during the next few weeks.
