How to get a user name and password
General notes
Distance Learning and Internet based Students
- Students should contact their course tutor for access to the Web
site and MUD.
- Distance learning and Internet based students are generally not
given access to the local School computer resources.
MSc and Diploma and short courses
- Students should contact their course tutor.
- Course tutors should send an email to CCSG containing
the following information:
- course title
- registry course code
- A list of the students will full names
- No student can be issued with a computer ID (user name) until the Registry has
accepted the student.
Please complete your enrolment as quickly as possible.
PhD students
- Students should contact their supervisors.
- Supervisors should contact CCSG and provide the following information:
- The student's full name
- The computer group
- Any group specific disk or system access requirements
- It may be necessary for a student to complete a
P Form.
- No student can be issued with a computer ID (user name) until the Registry has
accepted the student.
Please complete your enrolment as quickly as possible.
New members of staff who were formally students
- It is necessary to issue a new Login ID to people who start as students and
then become staff within the College as the ITS system is unable
convert a student ID to a staff ID.
- New members of staff who were formally students should follow the
procedures for "members of staff"
below to request a new account.
Members of staff
- Obtain a Application for Computer Use Form.
- Send the completed form with a note from your line manager to CCSG.
- The note should state the following if known:
- The required computer group
- Any group specific disk or system access requirements
Honorary members of the School,
Visitors etc
- All visitors and other users need a member of staff to support
their application for computer access.
- Applications may need to be checked with the head of School.
- Obtain a Application for Computer Use Form
.
- Send the completed form with a note from your supporting member of staff
to CCSG.
- The note should state the following if known:
- The required computer group
- Any group specific disk or system access requirements
