PINE

Pine - a Program for Internet News & Email - is the School of Crystallography perferred tool for reading, sending, and managing electronic messages. Pine was designed by the Office of Computing & Communications at the University of Washington specifically with novice computer users in mind, but it can be tailored to accommodate the needs of "power users" as well.

pine uses Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) to access the mail server.

Getting Started

New users should start with the University of Washington tutorial "Getting Started with Using Pine 4" (local copy) and then look at the Infinite Ink pine pages.

If you have a problem with Pine please contact the Crystallography Department Computer Support Group and not the University of Washington.
