World-class research

Birkbeck Crystallography performs world-class research in Structural Biology, Bioinformatics and Biophysics. 85% of our research was recognised as having international impact in RAE 2008, with 15% receiving the highest possible rating of world-leading.

We are part of the Department of Biological Sciences, which was formed in August 2009 following a merger of the former School of Crystallography and the School of Biological and Chemical Sciences.

We are part of the Institute of Structural Molecular Biology and the Bloomsbury Centre for Bioinformatics.

In the heart of London

We are located in Bloomsbury, central London.
